YOUTH JUDGING OPPORTUNITY

Parents, Grandparents, (even Uncles and Aunts), Car Owners and Kids, we need your HELP!!!!

Once again, POCI will feature a Youth Judging Program! Sponsored by Hagerty Insurance Company, this program is designed to stimulate the interest of our youth to understand and embrace the hobby we adults so enjoy. We are looking for 15 young folks between the ages of 8 and 14 years old to learn and apply judging skills to pre-selected cars being shown at our convention.

Our young judges will be guided through the Friday showfield to pre-selected cars where they will interact with owners to learn details and facts about each car. Using a simple scoring procedure that highlights five categories, our youth judges will rate each car on a scale of 1-to-5. Prior to judging cars, the group will receive practical judging instructions and be given hats, t-shirts, judging supplies and name tags, followed with an ice cream social hosted by our Youth Judging Coordinator.

SO… here is how it works…

PLEASE… NOMINATE YOUR KIDS!!!! Encourage your young girl or boy to sign up and make sure you help them properly complete the registration attached below. Please follow all instructions as we are asking that you send the registration information directly to our Youth Judging Coordinator, Rick Kaiser, at the address listed on the form. We only have room for 15 youth in this special program so please get your forms back early.

Kids:

PLEASE… tell mom, dad, grandma or grandpa that you want to participate in this fun but very interesting activity. This is a chance for you to understand why adults have so much fun at car shows and enjoy our Oaklands, Pontiacs, and GMC trucks. Fill out the Youth Judging registration form and have your parents review and sign it so that we know you are going to participate.

All youth judges must be available on Wednesday, June 11 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Popular Vote Car Owners:

PLEASE… VOLUNTEER your car for this event. We will select six cars for judging and we need your help to encourage our youth to embrace our great hobby. If you choose to volunteer your car, please complete the “Youth Judging Car Information Form” in this packet and send it to our Youth Judging Coordinator, Rick Kaiser, at the address listed on the form. Variety is important to the success of this program so we are looking for vehicles registered in the Popular Vote show so that we don’t interfere with the Points Judged show. It could be a Grand Prix, Fiero, Firebird, GTO, Oakland, GMC truck or a vintage car from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s or 60’s. Our Youth Judging Team will choose 6 vehicles from the volunteer sheets and notify each participating car owner of their selection. Our program is designed for 6 vehicles with interesting history. All cars owners selected will receive a separate Youth Judging Car Owner’s Information packet from our Youth Judging Coordinator. Unique trophies will be given to each of the five car owners selected to participate. Our Youth Judges will decide which vehicle are selected for the Top 3 places. Awards will be presented to car owners, on the show field immediately following the judging.

There is NO COST for entering this event; however, all car owners participating must be available on Wednesday, June 11 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am to give a brief history of their vehicle!
