LITTLE INDIANS CHAPTER UPDATE - JAN.
LITTLE INDIANS CHAPTER (1961-63 Tempest/Lemans) The Little Indians Chapter had a busy, successful 2007 with some members attending the POCI convention in July and many others planning and looking forward to this years convention in South Dakota, it should be a great one. Little Indians make sure you have your reservations and are registered, hope we have the highest attendance of members yet. Then there was our big annual event called our "Pow Wow" which was dedicated in memory of Dave Johnson. It was held in August at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk Ohio during the Pontiac nationals weekend. It was a perfect weekend with drag races, a huge car show and many more tempest/ lemans than we could have hoped for. There were many members, new and old, as well as some perspective members which attended this fabulous event. With so many members and friends doing the numerous activities on the grounds we were pretty spread out most of the time but would touch base with each other during the weekend and managed to get most attending members together Friday night to eat and share some stories and laughs. The weekend proved to be another successful Pow Wow for the Little Indians Chapter with fun had by all. Any ideas for next years Pow Wow welcomed. Also in August some of the members were able to make it to the annual Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit. It is always quite an event and if you have never gone, it is worth the trip to experience it. One year our Pow Wow was held there. Our great fall activity/get together is the annual Pumpkinfest with is dedicated to Raymond Mills, one of our Canadian members who started the Chapter going there but since has passed away. It is held the first weekend of October in Port Elgin Canada. The car show gets larger each year with a large variety of cars and always lots of activities to keep us all entertained. The weather cooperated for us too, only raining in the evening. Cheryl Mills won the famous chocolate trophy this year and after some pictures to remember it by she was nice enough to share it with us all, yum. This fun weekend usually ties up the summer car activities for most of us as we look forward to the 2008 activities. We welcome anyone interested in the tempest/lemans to check our web site at www.littleindians.com and maybe consider joining us. We have a versitile group of members with a wealth of knowledge that love sharing it with others interested in these great little cars.
