UPDATED: Director Emeritus: Gale Menger passes away

It's with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Director Emeritus-Gale Menger. After battling a short illness Gale passed away on Wednesday July 10th at their winter home in Mesa, Arizona.

Gale along with her husband Fred Menger have been fixtures of POCI almost since the beginning. She enjoyed attending conventions and car shows together with Fred, and always took time to interact with the young kids at the shows. She was a founding member of the Minnesota Tomahawk Chapter and of the Street Rod Modified Chapter. She was also the proud owner of a 1976 Trans Am which she purchased new. Gale had been a member of POCI since 1982. She served 3 years as POCI Secretary, 3 years as Vice President and 3 years as President. She was POCI's first woman President. After completing her third term as President she became a Director Emeritus. Gale was often the first person to greet new Board members into the fold, and always looked to recruit more young people to be active within POCI. Most recently Gale served on the POCI Chapter Committee helping to establish the Original Owner's chapter and the Fiero Chapter. Gale was a very active Director right up to the end, she was always promoting POCI and the Pontiac brand wherever she went. We will truly miss her guiding presence on the POCI Board.

Memorial services for Gale are planned for Saturday October 12th at 11:00am with visitation at 10:00am, a lunch will follow the service, which will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 3745 Shoreline Drive ( county road 15 ) in Navarre Mn. (Wayzata Mn ) Her ashes will be interred the following week at Ft Snelling National Cemetery. Condolence cards can be mailed to: Fred Menger 1725 Chateau Way, Maple Plain, MN 55359
