Tuesday, June 10th: Frazier History Museum Tour

The Frazier History Museum was founded in 2004 and bills itself as “Where the World Meets Kentucky.” It’s an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and offers artifacts and exhibitions for everyone. It’s also the official starting point for the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

Upon our arrival at the Frazier, we’ll enter as a group and then you’ll be free to explore the various exhibits at your own pace. There are three floors so there’s a lot to see! When you’ve had your fill, lunch will be on your own at any of the various local restaurants within walking distance.

From there, patrons will have additional time to take in any of the various other attractions within walking distance.

There are several options to consider, including the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. The Evan Williams Experience and Kentucky Peerless Distilling will provide fascinating insights to our bourbon industry. The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, Glassworks, and the 21c Museum Hotel. The Louisville Science Center is an interactive learning headquarters for kids and adults alike. Experience the life of Louisville’s hometown hero at the Muhammad Ali Center where you can explore award-winning exhibits, historic civil rights-era footage, and more.

Be sure to register early as this event is likely to sell out quickly!

Wednesday, June 11th: Road Warrior Cruise

A visit to Central Kentucky wouldn’t be complete without time spent at one of the Commonwealth’s premier attractions, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. That’s exactly where this year’s Road Warrior cruise will find its participants traveling as they get away from the hustle and bustle of Louisville. They'll pass through neighboring Bullitt County where the roadway opens to a more rural landscape, passing by small farms and quaint century homes as they make they're way to the destination for the cruise... the small town of New Haven and the Kentucky Railway Museum (KRM)!

Arriving in New Haven, our cruisers will have ample time to explore the small museum that includes artifacts and a large HO model train layout, browse the gift shop, and use the facilities. The museum also includes outdoor displays where you can inspect some of the classic rail cars under repair and refurbishment in the adjacent car barn.

From here cruisers will board a vintage passenger train car for the roughly 30-minute scenic ride to Gethsemane where we’ll visit the Log Still Distillery. Distillery tours are limited in size, so depending on the size of our Road Warrior contingent, some cruisers will have lunch while others tour, then reverse the process until all have had time to tour and dine. The lunch buffet menu is still being defined for 2025; however, we expect a full hot barbeque meat sampler buffet with sides, salads, and cobbler for dessert.

Upon our return to the KRM, participants will be able to spend more time exploring the museum and displays, or they can fire-up their classic to venture back to the host hotel.
